Section 1 – General Hospital Planning and Design

General Hospital Planning and Design covers the entire hospital planning and design process, including developing a project vision, conducting a feasibility study, identifying key stakeholders, and establishing the basics of hospital planning and design. The section provides a comprehensive overview of the process and enables participants to develop healthcare facilities that meet the needs of their communities.

Section 2 – Space Program

This section of the course focuses on the different spaces in healthcare facilities and the factors that influence their design. You will learn how to define these spaces and explore various solutions for space program summaries. Through this section, you will gain a better understanding of the critical role that space planning plays in the design and functionality of healthcare facilities.

Section 3 – Concept Design & Conceptual Drawings

This section teaches learners how to conceptualize healthcare facilities through concept design and conceptual drawings. It covers different tools and techniques used in the process and includes lectures on massing options, room program, operational policies and objectives, stack diagrams and plans, site approach and surrounding, design by components, modular grid, efficient floor and circulations, standard components, reflected ceiling plans, interior design, and landscaping. The section aims to provide learners with the necessary knowledge and skills to design and document healthcare facilities effectively.

Section 4 – Hospital Equipment Planning

This section covers several important aspects related to hospital equipment, including medical and non-medical equipment, creating a room-by-room list of equipment, estimating a budget for equipment, creating a Room Data Sheet (RDS) and Room Layout Sheet (RLS), creating a procurement schedule, and providing commissioning and training for the equipment.
